The reigning Hachioji Meeting 10,000m champion, Emmanuel korir took the top honors in the senior men’s 10km race at the 39th edition of the Cerdioui SAID Tizi-Ouzou Cross country challenge held on Saturday (28) in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria.
The 20 year-old destroyed a strong field of experienced road runners that included Stanely Njihia, Evans Kirui and the 2013 African U20 Silver medallist, John Maina.
Korir led a 1-2-3 Kenyan podium finish as he cut the tape first in 31:10 with Kirui coming home in second place four seconds later. Njihia finished in third in 31:45 with Maina in fourth in 31:54.
Abed Saber was first Algerian to cross the finish in fifth place in a time of 32:00.
