World 5km record holder, Ejgayehu Taye will battle the World Indoor 3000m champion, Lemlem Hailu in the women’s 3000m at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series that will be held on today (08) in Torun, Poland.
The 22 year-old who is also the 2018 World U20 3000m silver medallist, will have to get past her compatriot who is also the 2019 African Games 1500m bronze medallist.
World 3000m steeplechase silver medallist Werkuha Getachew and World Indoor 800m silver medallist Freweyni Hailu, will also be on the start list as they fight the two for the top podium finish.
The 2014 Commonwealth Games 800m bronze medallist, Winnie Nanyondo from Uganda, the 2015 European Indoor 3000m bronze medallist, Maureen Koster of the Netherlands and the European Athletics U23 1500m bronze medallist, Martyna Galant from Poland have also been included in the lineup.
