Kenya’s Ednah Mukhwana destroyed the race course at the 12th edition of the Bilbao Night Marathon that was held on Sunday (24) in Bilbao, Spain.
Mukhwana cut off a whooping six minutes five seconds off the previous record that was set in 2019 by Ethiopia’s Zeritu Wakjira to set a new course record of 2:36.29.

Mukhwana who ran the better part of the race solo was followed a distant later by Spain’s Dolores Marco who crossed the line thirteen minutes later.
Another Kenyan Priscila Chepatiy closed the first three podium finishes in 2:50.55.

In the Half Marathons race, Kenya’s Elvis Chebor took the honors in 1:01.54 as he led 1-2 Kenyan podium finish with Gilbert Masai coming home in second in 1:01.59 with Spain’s Unai Arroyo finishing in third in 1:06.30.
In the women category Rachael Zena took the honors in 1:11.23 and was followed by Gladys Jeruto from Kenya in 1:12.25 with Spain’s Olaia Carrasco coming in third in 1:18.48.
