South Sudanese runner Domnic Loninyomo Lobalu, who represents the Athlete Refugee Team, took down Olympic 10,000m bronze medalist, Jacob Kiplimo in the men 3000m race at the Bauhaus-Galan held on Thursday (30) in Olympiastadion, Stockholm.
The 23 year-old shocked Kiplimo who is also the World half marathon record holder in a thrilling sprint to win the race in a world leading time and a massive personal best of 7:29.48.
Kiplimo who is also the 2019 World junior 10000m champion was forced to settle in second place as he also dipped under the 7:30 barrier in 7:29.55 with Cornelius Kemboi from Kenya closing the podium three finishes in 7:31.26.
Oceanian record holder, Stewart McSweyn, improved his seasonal best to 7:31.93 when he finished in fourth with Thierry Ndikumenayo improved the Burundi National record to 7:34.91 when finishing in fifth.
