Kenya’s Dennis Kipkosgei took the top honors in the rainy and wet weather conditions at the 25th edition of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series held on Sunday in Phoenix, Arizona.
Kipkosgei whose focus is to claim victories on the remaining two races, will have to get past the series leader, American Trevor Conde who has a superior nine point lead on the elite series ranking.
Kipkosgei managed to reduce the points from 29 to nine when he ran away with the title in a time of 1:04.28 with Canadian’s Rory Linkletter coming a distant second a minute later.
“The weather patterns weren’t good at all at the start of the race but am grateful for the win. If I can continue with this kind of shape, I see myself taking the jackpot,” said Kipkosgei. My focus right now is to win the jackpot in Las Vegas, he concluded.
United States Reid Buchanan who is placed fourth on lead board, closed the podium three finishes in a time of 1:06.25.
Chris Frias and the series leading contender, Conde finish in fourth and fifth place in a time of 1:06.56 and 1:07.52 respectively.
