Kenya’s Daniel Simiu Ebenyo won the silver medal in the men’s 10,000m race at the ongoing Commonwealth Games that are being held in Birmingham.
The 27 year-old crossed the finish line in 27:11.26 behind the eventual winner Olympic bronze medallist Jacob Kiplimo who lived to his expectations as favourite when he won the race in a time of 27:09.19.
“I missed out on a medal at the two World Championships this year but I had purposed in my mind that I must be on the podium and am happy for my performance today,” said Ebenyo.
The fastest man this year over distance, Kibiwott Kandie closed the podium three finishes in 27:03.34 to take home the bronze medal.
