After sailing through to finals with a third place finisher in the semi-finals, Damaris Mutunga unleashed a massive break as she wrote her name on the World scene when she set a new Kenyan National U20 400m Record at the ongoing World Athletics U20 championships that is being held in Cali, Colombia.
The 16 year-old bursts to the limelight as she held off Rupal from India who had beaten her twice during the heats to cross the line with a National Record and personal best of 51.71.
Great Britains Yemi Mary John who has won all the races she participated in lived to her expectations as she took the top honors in 51.50 with Rupal closing the medal bracket in 51.85.
