The 2018 European 10,000m bronze medallist Yemaneberhan Crippa broke the Italian 5km record at the Road to Records Race that was held on Saturday (30) Herzogenaurach, Germany.
The 25 year-old who is also the 2017 European Athletics U23 Champion wrote history as he set a new men’s 5km European and Italian National Record, when he finished in fourth place with a time of 0:13.14, erasing the previous record of 13:18 that was set in 2020 by Jimmy Gressier.
The race was won by the 2019 World 10,000m silver medallist, Yomif Kejecha from Ethiopia who posted a world leading time and a life time best of 0.12.53.
