Africa U20 javelin bronze medalist Caroline Anyango has set her focus on the podium at the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games scheduled from 4th- 11th of August in Trinidad and Tobago.
After winning the bronze medal at the Africa Junior Championships in Lusaka Zambia, Caroline, the young javelin sensation, is now gearing up for her next challenge at the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games.
The rising star who has been training at the Kasarani Stadium for the past two weeks, has shown remarkable progress in her throws, improving from an impressive 42m to 48m.
Caroline’s dedication and determination have been fueled by the inspiration she draws from the javelin legend, the 2016 Rio Olympic games javelin silver medallist, Julius Yego. During her training sessions, Yego shared invaluable tips and techniques, igniting Caroline’s passion for the sport even further.
“I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to learn from someone as accomplished as Julius Yego. His guidance and mentorship have been instrumental in refining my skills and honing my technique,” Caroline expressed with enthusiasm.
Caroline aspires to improve on her previous performance and etch her name in the annals of sporting history. The young athlete dreams of one day breaking a world record, a feat that seems more attainable with her boundless potential and the expert guidance of her mentor.
