Kenya’s Brenda Jerotich Kiprono will be the star to watch at the 20th edition of the Münster-Marathon that will be held on Sunday (11) in Münster, Germany.
The 24 year-old who will be running her second marathon this year, comes to this race with a personal best time of 2:28.45 that she got in April at the Enschede Marathon where she finished in seventh place.
Kiprono who holds the Linz Marathon course record time of 2:30.27 will battle for honors with her compatriot Gladys Jeruto Kiptoo who comes to this race with a personal best time of 2:28.45 that she got this year at the Rome marathon where she finished in second place.
The two Kenyans will clash with Ethiopia’s Yeshimebet Tadesse Bifa, who holds a personal best time of 2:26.18 that she got at the Seoul Marathon in 2013 where she took the bronze medal. The 33 year-old holds a season best of 2:32.16 that she got in Rome where she finished in fourth place.
The three will be chasing to lower the race course record of 2:29.12 that was set in 2013 by Eleni Gebrehiwot from Germany.
