Kenya’s Brenda Kiprono smashed the race course record at the 19th edition of the Linz Marathon that was held on Sunday (24) in Linz, Austria.
The 24 year-old who was running her first marathon smashed the previous course record of 2:30.45 that had been set by Lisa-Christina Stublic in 2011 setting a new course record of 2:30.27 which is also her personal best.
She was followed a distant later by Urge Diro Soboka from Ethiopia in a time of 2:34.47 with Gladys Chemutai from Kenya closing the first three podium finishes in 2:38.14.
