Kenya’s Beatrice Cheserek took the top honors at the 19th edition of the Cardiff Half Marathon held on Sunday (02) in Cardiff, Wales.
Cheserek led a 1-2 Kenyan podium finish as she was followed by Viola Chepngeno in second place five seconds later with Ethiopia’s Zewditu Aderaw closing the podium three finishes in 1:09.16.
“This was my first time in Cardiff. The support was fantastic and helped me to work hard” said Cheserek.
Cynthia Nolari from Kenya and Ethiopia’s Birhan Mhretu finished in fourth and fifth place in a time of 1:10.17 and 1:11.16 respectively.
The race course record of 1:05.52 that was set in 2017 by Edith Chelimo remains standing
