Kenya’s Beatrice Cheptoo will be targeting the top honors at the 44th edition of the Istanbul Marathon slated on November 05, 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 30 year-old who made her marathon debut two years ago at the Zurich Maratón Málaga with a time of 2:25.20 and taking the bronze medal, has improved significantly with her time as she now holds a personal best of 2:22.28 that she set early this year at the Ooredoo Doha Marathon where she finished in third place. Cheptoo is currently is the fastest woman in the field and taking into account her strong development she is a strong favorite in Istanbul.
The reigning Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival Champion will face-off of with the reigning Stockholm Marathon champion, Sifan Melaku of Ethiopian who has been in great shape as she holds the second fastest time on paper of 2:23.49 that she got three years ago when she had just turned 20 years.
Uganda’s Rachel Chebet will be making her debut over the distance as well as Turkey’s Sultan Haydar.
