After being officially admitted into the Kenya National Police a fortnight ago, the World 5000m silver medallist, Beatrice Chebet, came back to racing with a bang as she bagged the 91st edition of the Cinque Mulini Cross Country title held on Sunday (15) in San Vittore Olona, Italy.
The 22 year-old who is the reigning 5000m Diamond League champion and also the reigning African 5000m Champion, led a 1-2 Kenyan podium finish as she took the top honors in a time of 19:41 with Lucy Maiwa coming home in second in 19:56.
Olympic Games 800m silver medallist, Francine Niyonsaba closed the podium three finishes in 20:24.
Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw and Giovanna Selva finished in fourth and fifth place in a time of 20:33 and 20:36 respectively
