World U20 800m Champion, Ayal Dagnachew ran the 8th fastest time in the world in 3000m race at the 6th edition of the Eure Athletics Meeting which is a World Athletics Indoor tour silver level that was held at the Jesse Owens Stadium in Val-de-Reuil (Eure).
Dagnachew who won the 800m women race in Nairobi started off the season on high note as she wrote her name in the history books by taking the title with a personal best of 8:41.32.
The 20 year-old Ethiopian pulled the top eleven athletes to finish with the personal bests. European U23 Champion, Nadia Battocletti came home in second place in a time of 8:41.72 with Workeda Getachew closing the podium finishes in 8:41.72.
Ethiopia’s Tigist Ketema and Zerfe Wondemagegn finished in fourth and fifth place in a time of 8:43.91 and 8:44.63 respectively.
World U18 bronze medallist, Edinah Jebitok performed dismally as she finished in sixth place with Selah
Busienei crossing the line in ninth place and both pulling personal bests of 8:45.46 and 8:52.40 respectively.
