Olympic 800m champion Athing Mu is set to race for the first time in 11 months at the USATF NYC Grand Prix set for Saturday (24) at Icahn Stadium in in Manhattan, New York City.
Mu who is also the World 800m champion will face a deep elite field that will include the reigning World Indoor champion Ajee’ Wilson, last year’s Diamond League final third placer Sage Hurta-Klecker, United States Indoor 1500m champion Heather MacLean and World 4x400m Relays champion Oliver Baker.
Since the World 800m Championships final in Eugene, alot of things have happened to the reigning Olympic 4×400m champion, who has moved from where she used to stay at the College Station to Los Angeles, changed her coach from Milton Mallard, who guided her to Olympic and World titles, to Bobby Kersee, a legendary sprint coach.
Mu also changed agencies, from Wes Felix to Alliance Sports, an agency primarily focused on NFL players (Mu and her boyfriend Brandon Miller are the only runners Alliance Sports represents).
