Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala continued his impressive performance as he set a new meet record in the men’s 100m at the 12th edition of the International Castiglione Athletics Meeting which is a World Athletics Continental Challenger event held on Sunday (22) at Carlo Zecchini Olympic Stadium in Italy.
The 26 year-old beat the 2019 African Games silver medallist, Arthur Cisse from Ivory Coast’s as he crossed the finish in 10:11 seconds with the latter coming home in 10.14 seconds.

Omanyala who holds the 100m world leading time was at it again at the same event as crushed his previous personal record of 20.90 with a new pb of 20.50 when he finished second behind the eventual winner Italy based Sri Lankan Yupun Abeykoon, smashing the National and South Asia Records in a blazing time of 20.37 seconds With Italy’s Ali chituru taking the third place in 20.64 seconds.
