Three time Ugandan National champion, Ali Chebures beat a strong elite team to run away with the top honors at the 23rd edition of the Tallin Half Marathon held on Saturday (09) in Tallin, Estonia.
the 31 year-old who last year signed a three year agreement with the Spanish giants Xiruca Sports Agency, an international sports management group, lived to the race expectations of coming to this race with the second fastest time on paper of 1:00.53 that he got last year at Barcelona Half Marathon, where he finished in seventh place.
Chebures who is affiliated to Ugandan Wildlife Athletics (UWA) took the top honors with the second time fastest time of his career of 1:01.35 and was followed by Kenya’s Elvis Tabarach who crossed the line in second place ten seconds later.
Kenya’ s Eric Ndiema, who was the race favorite and fastest man on paper with a time of 59:57 that he got in 2010 at the Hague City-Pier-City Half Marathon, where he finished in fourth, closed the podium three finishes in 1:01.50
