The 2019 World bronze medallist champion, Agnes Tirop smashed the 10km women world record at the Road To Records half marathon that was held on Sunday (12) at the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Tirop surged ahead of African gold medallist Champion Sheila Chepkirui with the 2km remaining to cut the tape in a new women’s only 10k world record in a time of 30:01.
Tirop who led 1-2-3 Kenyan podium finish was closely followed by Chepkirui who crossed the line in 30:17 and Nancy Jelagat closed the first three podium finishes in 30:50.
Betty Chepkemoi and Dorcas Kimeli finished in fourth and fifth place in 31:09 and 31:22 respectively.
