World 100m hurdles Record holder, Tobi Amusan has been retained in the mail list for the World Athletics Championships slated for August 19-27 in Budapest, Hungary.
Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) yesterday released the final list of 25 athletes who will represent the country at the Championships.
The federation is hopeful that Amusan who is busy in training for the World Championships, will be cleared by the Athletes Integrity Unit (AIU) which suspended her last week for three Whereabouts Failures which is a violation of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules.
AFN Technical Director, Samuel Onikeku, explained to The Guardian, yesterday, that World Record holder in the 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, is already in the main entry list sent to World Athletics.
“We had sent Tobi Amusan’s name in our main entry list to WA in case she is cleared by the Athletes Integrity Unit (AIU). Tobi is training for the World Championships, and we pray she gets the clearance to compete for Team Nigeria,” he said.
