Athletics Kenya president Lt. Gen (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei was re-elected as the first Vice president during the 23rd edition of the Congress of the African Athletic Confederation (CAA) held from 25 – 27 April 2023 in Lusaka, Zambia.
During the elections the AK president was handed the mantle for the second time consecutively when he was re-elected as the CAA first Vice President for a four year term.
Ahmed Malboum Kalkaba from Cameroon who dethroned the former IAAF (World Athletics) president Lamine Diack with a majority of 24/41 votes, in 2003 was also re-elected for another four term to extend his leadership at the helm of CAA to twenty years.
The congress was also attended by World Athletics president Sebastian Coe.
