Kenya’s Priscilla Biwott gifted Kenya her first gold medal in the women 5000m race at the ongoing 14th edition of the Africa Masters Athletics Championships being held at the Pilditch Athletics Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
Biwott who has been running in many hard course races in Iten as she prepared to represent her country in the women under the age group of 50-59 years, took the top honors in a time of 21:15.88 with her closest rival Elmarie Pretorius of South Africa coming home in second place in 21:23.25 with her compatriot Daleen Sonnekus wrapping up the podium three finishes in 21:15.12.
