The reigning World 800m champion Mary Moraa will highlight the 47th edition of the Memorial Van Damme Diamond League Meeting slated for Friday (08) in Brussels, Belgium.
Moraa who is also the Commonwealth Games 800m champion will be seeking to defend her Diamond League title though she will be racing in the 400m race where she holds a life time best of 50.38 which is also a Kenyan National record.
The 23 year-old will battle three athletes who have gone under the 50 seconds mark this season led by the 2019 European 400m Indoor silver medallist, Cynthia Bolingo from Belgium who holds the fastest time this season of 49.96 followed by reigning World 4×400m relay champion, Lieke Klaver from the Netherlands of 49.81 and the double World 400m hurdles silver medallist, Shamier Little from USA who also comes with a season best of 49.68.
Jamaica will be represented by the Tokyo Olympics 4×400m relay silver medallist, Candice Mcleod with Great Britain putting their hopes on World 4×400m mixed relay silver medallist Laviai Nielsen.
Other title contenders include double world 400m bronze medallist, Sada Williams from Barbados and Belgium’s Helena Ponette.
