Noah Lyles secured his first World 100m title when he triumphed over a deep field that included the fastest man this year over the distant Ferdinand Omanyala from Kenya at the on going 19th edition of the World Athletics Championships held on Sunday night (20) in Budapest, Hungary.
Lyles who is a 200m specialist ran away with the title in a world leading time of 9.83 seconds with Botswana going into history books as Letsile Tebogo came home second with a National Record time of 9.88 seconds.
Great Britain’s National record holder over 100m and 200m as well, wrapped up the podium three finishes in a photo finish time of 9.88 seconds.
Africa’s fastest man Omanyala finished a distant seventh in a time of 10.07 seconds.
