World 5000m Champion Edris Muktar won the Giro as Sas International 10K Road Race that was held on Sunday (1) in Trento, Italy.
Muktar who won the in 2014 and 2015 led a 1-2-3 Ethiopian finish when he cut the tape in 28:54 beating his closest challenger Telahun Haile by one second with third going to Yasin Haji of 29:13.
When talking to the press Edris said, “My form is improving day after day. The world title has changed my life. It’s important to keep my feet on the ground and continue working hard.
I made my family and my country proud. “Winning in Trento for the third time in my career means a lot,” he added. “Everyone expects me to win every time I compete here. It’s always nice to run in Trento in front of such great fans.”
The 2012 Olympics bronze medallist Thomas Longosiwa from Kenya finished a distant sixth position in a time of 29.42.
