Kenya’s Lawi Kiptui lived to his expectations as he took the bull by its horn hammering a personal best at the 8th edition of the Rennes Marathon that was held on Sunday (28) in Rennes, France.
Kiptui who has won all three marathons that he has participated in that includes Stockholm marathon, Lyon and now the Green Marathon Rennes battled for the top honors with five athletes who all ran under the 2:10.
The 25 year-old went to this race with a set mind on how to conquer and ran away with a pb and for sure it came to pass as he cut off almost five minutes from his previous personal best of 2:13.21.
Kiptui missed to thrash the course record of Felix Kiprotich (2:08.05) mark by 25 seconds but was very happy to run his pb today. the
“First I thank God for the win and for enabling me to run my personal best which I have really been looking forward to,” said Kiptui.
While speaking to www.athletics.co.ke immediately after the race Kiptui said, “I trained and prepared well for this race and also the weather was good.”
