Athletics Kenya president, Lieutenant Retired General Jackson Tuwei has been appointed as a member of the Sports, Arts and Social Development.
The seven-member oversight board was officially gazetted by the Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.
The board is made up of five Principal Secretaries from the Ministries of Education, Arts, Health, National Treasury and Sports and will be working alongside the former vice president Moody Awori.
The function of this board will manage the fund, preparing and submitting quarterly reports to the Finance CS.
Other functions of the board entails; developing infrastructure and facilitating Team Kenya for their national assignment.
The operationalization of the funds comes at a time when teams preparing for National duties have been complaining about poor preparations and funds to manage their preparations.
