Ethiopia’s Lencho Anbesa broke the course record at the 8th edition of the Kyiv Half Marathon that was held on Sunday (22) in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Anbesa broke his own record that he set last year by fifteen nine seconds to cut the tape in a new course record of 1:02.56.
The 21 year-old was closely followed by Nicholas Makau from Kenya who was trying his second luck in this race.
Makau arrived few hours to the race due to disruptions to his air travel was forced to second place when he crossed the line three seconds later.
Ukraine’s Roman Romenenko came a distant third in 1:07.59 closed the podium three in in third.
“My main target was to break the course record this year but will try again next year, said Makau.
