In the starry path in search of glory and honor in the tracks, Kenya is once again faced with dishonorable and inglorious athletes who prefer the short route of using banned substances to the longer and arduous path that is right.
Yet again two athletes have been banned after their blood samples tested positive for banned substances.
The athletes Sharon Ndinda Muli has been banned for four years with effect starting 29th April 2016 after testing positive while Ken Kirui has been banned for one year with effect starting 21st July 2016.
This came about after their appeals failed to overturn the previous ruling by the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK).
These two athletes portend an increasing trend and upsurge in the number of athletes being found to have used these enhancements.
The prohibited substances used were, 19-norandorestorone and 19-noretiocholanolone for Sharon while Kirui used Betamethasone.
Its seems the frequency of athletes using banned substance is akin to the way men eat groundnuts.
