Kenya’s Barselius Kipyego will defend his title at the 7th edition of the Mattoni Usti nad Half Marathon that will be held on Saturday (16) in Czech Republic.
Kipyego will defend his title he won last year when he set the course record of 59:15 and will battle for honors with his fellow country-mate that will include Solomon Kirwa who comes with a PB of 58:44 that made him become the third fastest man ever on the distance. The 30 year-old got this time at the Roma-Ostia Half Marathon in 2016.
Another Kenyan favorite is 21 year-old Kenneth Keter who also has a personal best of 59:48 that he got last year at the Venlo Half Marathon in Netherlands.
The 26 year-old Lahbabi Aziz of Morocco will also be looking for the podium place a s he comes with a PB of 59:25
Kirwa comes to this race with a PB of 59:50 he got this season at the Ras Al Khaimah race where he finished fourth while Kipyego comes with season best of 1:00.47 that he got in his only race at Prague Half Marathon in April.
Tanzanian Ismail Juma, Josphat Kiptis and Josphat Tanui both from Kenya have PB’s of 1:00.09,1:00.21 and 1:00.38 respectively will be on startline to hunt for honors.
