Ethiopia’s Hiwot Gebremaryam will defend his title at the 3rd edition of the Copenhagen Half Marathon that will be held on Sunday (17) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The 22 year-old comes to the race with a PB of 1:08.00 which is also the race course record that she set in 2016.
Gebremaryam will battle for honors with the 2014 World Half Marathon silver medallist Mary Wacera of Kenya who comes to this race with a PB of 66.29 that she got last year in January at Aramco Houston Half Marathon.
Another elite athlete on the startlist is Brigid Kosgei of Kenya comes with a season best of 1:07.35 she got this year in March at the Lake Maggiore Half Marathon in Italy.
The 23 year-old beat Wacera this year at the Bogota Half Marathon when she took honors with a time of 1:12.17 and 1:12.43 respectivly.
“A course record is the making from this three top athlete,” said Henrik Paulsen, Sports Director at Sparta Athletics and Running and elite field responsible at the Copenhagen Half Marathon.
