Kenya’s Hillary Maiyo will defend his title at the 3rd edition of the Minsk Half Marathon that will be held on Sunday (10) on the streets of Minsk, Belarus.
The 23 year-old comes to the race with a personal best of 1:02.41 he set in 2016 at the Gdynia Half Marathon in Warsaw, Polanda. He also won Pila Half Marathon that is also held in Poland cutting the tape in 1:03.27.In January this year he won DuRun 10K with a time of 29.44 which was the fastest time in Croatia.
Maiyo will battle for honors with Ethiopian Jima Bekele who in June won the Dubai International 10K with a time of 30.10 and a PB of 1:03.04 he set last year at the Suzhou Jinji Lake International Half Marathon in China.
Julius Koskei is another elite athlete on the start line up coming to the race with a PB of 1:01.21 he got in 2011 but has 1:04.23 he got this season at the Fort Worth Half Marathon.
The winner of the race will pocket a cool $ 3000 and an additional bonus of $ 1000 if you break the course record 1:03.00 which was set last year by Maiyo.
