Kenya’s Agnes Kiprop will battle for honors at the at the 10th edition of the Cape Town Marathon that will be held on Saturday 16, September in Cape Town, South Africa.
Kiprop who comes to the race with the fastest time of 2:23.54 that she got in 2011 at the Frankfurt Marathon will battle with the defending champion Tish Jones from Britain who has a PB of 2:33.56 she got at this year’s London Marathon.
Irvette Van Zyl is the fastest South African in the field with a personal best of 2:31.39.
“The elite field plays a key role in our attempt to gain Gold Label status, as we need to ensure there are at least five Gold Label athletes from five different countries,” said Elana Meyer the race director.
