Kenya’s Dominic Kipkemboi and George Manangoi showed class in1500m boys race at the World U18 Championships that is ongoing at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani, Nairobi.
Kipkemboi took 3:48.77 to claim pole position in heat 1and Manangoi taking first position in heat 2with 3:55.00.
Algerian Oussama Cherrad and Abebe Dessassa took second and third position in heat one with 3:48.93 and 3:49.58 respectively.
While in heat 2 Ethiopia’s Belete Mekonen and Uganda’s Daniel Kiprop took second and third place crossing the finish line with 3:56.32 and 3:58.68 respectively.
Nicholas Kemboi and Kumari Taki are the two Kenyans who hold the World U18 best and course record with 3:33.72 and 3:36.38 respectively while Jakob Ingebrigtsen of Norway has the World leading.
