Kenya’s Allan Kipkorir Kiprono won the Hannover Marathon that was held on Sunday (9) in Germany.
Kiprono took 2:09.52 to make Hannover his first marathon wins as he led a 1-2 Kenya podium finish.
The 27 year old beat off his countryman Philip Sanga to second place as he crossed the finish line in 2:10.07. Sanga tied with Norwegian Sondre Moen.
Another Kenyan Nicholas Kamakya finished fourth with 2:11.35 with the three time Hannover winner and the current record holder South African Lusapho April finishing fifth in 2:11.41.
Kiprono who is coached by German Dieter Hogen said, “I want to go and improve on my time in October at Frankfurt marathon.”
