Uganda’s Joshus Cheptegei is the won the Elgoibar Cross Country that was held on Sunday (22) in Elgoibar.
Cheptegei beat off the defending champion Aweke Ayalew from Baharain and former winner Teklemarian Medhin from Eritrea.
After pulling away from the pack, Cheptegei stay in commanding position crossing the finish tape with a time of 31:50 with Ayalew coming in second in 32:16. This win made Cheptegei to be the second Ugandan to claim victory after Timothy Cheroitich in 2014.
Kenya’ Steeple chase king and Olympic Champion Conseslus Kipruto finished in thiord position in 32:27 with former winner Medhin coming fourth in 32:28. The home talent Javier Guerre finished fifth in 32:31.
