Former World Half Record holder Mary Keitany is ready for the 11th edition of Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon (RAK) that will be held on 10th February in United Arabs Emirates (UAE).
Keitany who hails from Kisok, Baringo County ripped off Lornah Kiplagat’s 2007 world record set when won the world half marathon championships in Udine, Italy in 2007. She was the RAK race with a time of 1:05.50 in 2011 against Kiplagat’s time of 1:05.85
“I will be going for RAK to test my speed with the rest of the world before travelling to London. On world record, let me not comment on that as this is January and the course will be having world leading runners and majority of them will be those going to London and Boston marathons,” added the
Mother of two.
“I am really ready for the race to try and get my third win since the training is going on very well and hope this year will bear more fruits compared to last year,” added the 2009 world half marathon champion.
The three times New York City marathon champion was speaking in Eldoret on Wednesday morning after her morning training.
