Kenya’s Peter Cheruiyot Kirui won the Wachau Half Marathon that was held in Austria on Sunday (16).
The 28 year old who hails from Bomet and trains with Chebirbelek athletics club set in a new course record with a time of 59:53.
Kirui has a personal of 59:22 that he got at Praha half marathon in 2014, he also has a personal best of 2:06.31 from Frankfurt Marathon in the year 2011.
“I am so happy for the win and can’t wait to come and defend it next season and also try and reduce the time God willing,” he said after winning the race.
